What type of oil does the 2011 Nissan Sentra use?
I’m trying to save some money by learning to change my own oil at home, but I’m not exactly sure what kind of oil I need to use in my 2011 Nissan Sentra. Any advice?

Changing your oil at home is a great way to cut down on automotive costs! According to the owner’s manual for the 2011
Nissan Sentra
you should use a five-quart bottle of 5W-30 synthetic motor oil when changing your oil. Your owner’s manual will also contain plenty of information on how often to change your Sentra’s oil, as well as tips on how to perform the process, including your Sentra’s oil capacity.
While Nissan recommends the use of 5W-30 synthetic motor oil for the 2011 Sentra’s 2.0-liter I-4 engine, they don’t specify a brand. Here are some great brand options for that specific type of oil:
- Mobil 1-Extended Performance 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil
- Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start 5W30
- AmazonBasics High Mileage Full Synthetic Motor Oil
