How do you open the gas tank on a Mitsubishi Galant?

I’m renting a Mitsubishi Galant for the week while I’m away for work and I cannot figure out how to open the gas tank! I’ve tried everything. How do I get the gas tank open on a Galant?

Rental cars can disorient anybody—especially when it comes to opening the gas tank! The Mitsubishi Galant is especially tricky to figure out, but there’s a lever on the left side of the driver’s seat on the floor that you can pull to get the gas tank open.

From there, you’ll need to make your way to the rear, left side of the vehicle to push the left side of the fuel door. Once you can see the gas cap, slowly twist it counter-clockwise, and you’ll finally be able to fuel up.
