If you have a GM Financial loan for your car, you need to know how and where to make your monthly payments. Fortunately, GM Financial accepts a variety of payment methods. You can pay via their website, on their app, or over the phone. You can also snail mail a check or send a money order.
If it’s time to make your GMC payment and you’re not sure how or where to do it, this guide can help you keep your
car loan
paid up. We’ll show you how to make your payments and what kind of financing terms you should expect if you’re ready to buy.

How to pay your GMC car bill

If you’ve financed a vehicle through GM Financial, there are plenty of ways to pay. Here are the payment systems you can use to make sure your payment gets to GMC.

Online

You can set up a one-time or recurring online payment through the
GM Financial website
, but first, you’ll need to register your financial account on the website. You can do this with your loan account number.
Once your account is registered, select “Make a Payment” from the MyAccount dashboard menu. Then, select whether you’d like to pay with a debit card or by a withdrawal from your bank account. You’ll need to fill out an online form with your payment information.
Once the form is correctly completed, click on “Make Payment” to finalize your payment. If the payment is successful, you’ll see a confirmation number on the website and you’ll receive a payment confirmation via email.

By phone

If you prefer to pay by phone, you can through the GM Financial customer service line. Just gather your account number and payment information, and call (833) 702-0077 for the automated system, or (800) 284-2271 to pay with a live agent assisting you.
You should note, though, that phone payments are processed through a third party that charges a fee for the service. You’ll be charged $7.50 if you use the automated payment system. If you choose to speak with a live agent, you’ll have a $10 charge.
If you want to pay your GMC loan off, be aware that the pay-by-phone method has a spending limit of $2,999.99 per payment.

By mail

There are a couple of different mailing addresses that you can use to submit your regular GMC payment. One is for those who send their check ahead of time, and the other is for overnight mail if you’re making a last-minute payment.
There’s also a separate process for customers sending their pay-off balance by mail. The table below will show you which mailing address you should use for each payment type:

Before you send your payment, make sure to attach a payment coupon with your check. The payment coupon is found at the bottom of your billing statement, or you can download one from the GM Financial website and print it out.
Your GMC payment check should have your account number noted on it, and the check should be made payable to GM Financial.

In person

If you prefer to pay in cash and in person, you won’t be able to make an installment directly to GM Financial, but you can use third-party services like Western Union or Moneygram.
To pay by Western Union, you need the following information:
  • Fees are $4.99 for second-day transfer, $7.99 for next-day, or $9.99 for same-day.
  • When you fill out the form, complete it with Code City: GMFinancial (one word) and Send To: GM Financial (two words).
  • If you plan to make a payment that’s over $1,000, you’ll need a state or government-issued identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, or permanent resident card.
  • If you intend to make a payment of $3,000 or more, you’ll need all three of the following: Social Security number, birth date, and occupation information.
If you’re going to use Moneygram, you will need:
  • $9.99 for their service fee
  • You’ll use Receive Code 12424, and submit it to GM Financial Leasing with Fort Worth as the city/state.
  • If you’re sending your payment from the U.S., use country code 000. For payments from Canada, use 001.

Can I make my GMC payments with a credit card?

GM Financial won’t accept credit card payments unless they’re submitted through Moneygram or Western Union. Otherwise, to pay by phone, online, or mail, you’ll need to pay via your bank account by check, bank account withdrawal, or debit card.

Is there a grace period for GMC car payments?

Unfortunately, GM Financial does not allow a grace period for
late loan payments
. If you make a late payment, you’ll be assessed fees which will reflect on your next statement. However, GM Financial says they may have options for customers experiencing financial hardship.
To find out if you’re eligible for any assistance, get in touch with GM Financial’s customer service. You can message them directly through the My Account portal, or call (800) 284-2271.

How much are GMC payments?

If you want to finance a new GMC, you’ll find that starting MSRPs across the 2023 lineup range from $29,900 for the
Terrain
to $60,100 for the
Yukon XL
.
If you’re wondering what that means for your
average monthly payments
, the table below will give you an idea of what to expect for some of GMC’s top 2023 models. We’re using prices from the base trim levels, with payment information based on a 10%
down payment
, a 72-month loan term, and a 4.90% interest rate.
Things like your credit profile, loan term, and down payment amount may result in a different monthly payment amount.

While these numbers give you a good idea of what you can anticipate for a new GMC payment, your actual monthly payment will depend on many factors. Lenders evaluate your down payment, credit score, the value of of your
trade-in
, and the term of your loan. They also may apply special incentives, such as veterans discounts or seasonal sales.

FAQs

To get a loan from GMC through GM Financial, you have to have a minimum 550 credit score. If you’re not sure if you meet that requirement, you can
check your credit score
before applying for financing.
Even though GM Financial does not offer a late payment grace period, there may be assistance available to customers having trouble making their payments. However, GM Financial says this is on a case-by-case basis, and you must contact customer service to inquire about it.
