Infiniti’s most popular SUV is the
Infiniti QX50
. Over the last five years, Infiniti has sold an average of 21,188 QX50 models in the United States and has delivered a total of 126,376 units to American buyers since its introduction in 2015.It’s popular, and for good reason. The latest version of the QX50 comes with a wealth of standard trimmings including Apple CarPlay, a leather steering wheel, and keyless ignition. Infiniti’s driver-assist package is included on every model and features top-notch safety items like blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and pre-collision safety system to name just a few.
The QX50s engine is a 268-horsepower, 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, which produces sufficient power for just about everything you need to do, but it won’t make that hair on the back of your neck stand up. But, its fuel efficiency rating—23 city, 29 highway— is decent for a luxury automobile, and at a starting price of $39,150, the QX50 is quite affordable for a luxury SUV.
The best Infiniti SUV to buy used: 2019 QX50

If you’re in the market for a used SUV, the 2019 QX50 is the best bang for your buck. It’s quiet and comfortable with reclining second-row seating. The 2019 QX50 has 31 cubic feet of cargo room in the back and 65 cubic feet with the rear bench folded down. That year’s model also earned a five-star safety rating from the
NHTSA
.The 2019 model’s cost-of-ownership is quite reasonable for a luxury SUV. Including gas, insurance, repairs, and maintenance, owners spend an average of $5,938 per year on their 2019 QX50.
Basically, with the 2019 QX50, you’re getting Infiniti’s most popular SUV brand, but at a better price point. What’s not to love?
The best Infiniti SUV for families: QX60
Starting price: $49,045 (2022)

The QX50 might be the best Infiniti SUV, but if you’ve got a family to transport, it might not be a great fit for you. Enter: the

.With seating for seven—six for models with optional second-row captains chairs—this SUV has tons of space. Fold the

down, and you have 41 cubic feet of cargo space. Fold both rows down and you’ve got 75 cubic feet of useful room.The newest versions of the QX60 offer a number of amenities to make your drive more enjoyable. The cabin comes outlined with sound-deadening features to keep things quiet, and the front seats are available with power adjustments, heat, ventilation, and even a massage option—so you’ll save money on trips to the spa.
The QX60 is the ultimate road trip warrior. It has great fuel efficiency for a luxury SUV—21 city, 26 highway—and it
can tow up to 6,000 pounds

You might think, with Infiniti’s luxury vehicle pedigree, that the QX80 would rather stay in the comfortable surroundings of the paved city streets. Not so. With standard four-wheel drive, a 9.2-inch ground clearance, and 413 pound-feet of torque, the QX80 is a master off-road machine, capable of tackling difficult overland terrain right off the production line.
There’s no doubt that the QX80 can handle anything you throw at it, but with a starting price of $71,950, are you sure you want to throw things at it? If you’re going to be running your SUV through the wringer, you might want to consider getting something you won’t feel guilty about banging up.
A used 2019 QX50 sells for about half of what the base model QX80 goes for, and it has a very respectable 8.6 inches of ground clearance, 280 pound-feet of torque, and is available in four-wheel drive. Slap some all-terrain tires on there, and you’re good to go.
The best Infiniti SUV for fuel economy: QX60 Hybrid

For those looking to save the environment—or maybe just a few bucks at the pump—the 2017
Infiniti QX60 Hybrid
is tied for Infiniti’s most fuel-efficient SUV offering. The QX60 is propelled by a 250-horsepower, 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder hybrid engine, and has a combined city-highway fuel economy rating of 26 mpg, which is pretty good for a luxury SUV.The downside, here, is that the QX60 hybrid did not sell well, and Infiniti discontinued it in 2018, so there’s a chance you’ll have increasing difficulty finding components. And, while the QX60 Hybrid’s fuel economy is better than most Infiniti SUVs, it’s not that much better, and it’s tied with the front-wheel drive QX50.
Here is a look at how the QX60 Hybrid’s fuel consumption stacks up to other Infiniti SUVs:

While you may save a little bit of money at the pump, you’ll likely pay a little more upfront. Hybrids tend to be more pricey because of all the added machinery, and the cost of maintenance tends to be higher for hybrids as well.
