The Ford Expedition MAX is available in just four trims—the XLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum. The Ford Expedition is available in those trims, as well as the entry-level XL and the Timberline. Even with all those trims, there are only two numbers that matter in terms of these Expeditions’ lengths: total length and total width.

The Ford Expedition is available in all trims, and all share the same body length—210 inches long, or 17.5 feet.
The Ford Expedition has a towing capacity of 9,300 lbs across all trims, slightly more than the MAX. Seeing as the Expedition is a foot shorter than the MAX, the cargo space is slightly smaller, with 20.9 cubic feet of space behind the third row of seats.
The Expedition sports a V6 engine with between 400 and 440 horsepower. Fuel economy is rated as 19 mpg combined.
Ford Expedition MAX trims
The Ford Expedition MAX is a foot longer than the regular Expedition, measuring out at 221.9 inches, or 18.5 ft long.
The towing capacity is slightly lower on a fully-optioned MAX, with a tow rating of 9,000 lbs—300 less than the regular Expedition. But an extra foot in overall length brings serious dividends in terms of overall cargo space. The Expedition MAX boasts 36 cubic feet of space behind the third row of seats, 16 more feet than the Expedition.
The Expedition MAX shares both engine size—a V6, with between 400 and 440 horsepower—and the same fuel efficiency ratings as the regular Expedition, 19 mpg combined.

You can get a base model Expedition for just under $69,000, but the price of a top-trim Platinum jumps to $80,000.As for the MAX, a fully loaded model starts at $87,000, so make sure you need all that extra space (not to mention all the bells & whistles that come with it) before signing on the dotted line for an Expedition MAX.
