How many cars are in New Hampshire?

After I moved to New Hampshire about a year ago, I learned that car insurance isn’t compulsory. I thought this was odd, but moreover, it made me wonder if more people own cars because they don’t have to pay for car insurance. How many cars are there in New Hampshire?

A lack of compulsory
car insurance
is exclusive to
New Hampshire
—and certainly an oddity in America.
Per the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 1.35 million cars in New Hampshire. That’s around one car for every resident, which translates into about two cars per household.
Your theory is interesting! But we couldn’t find any info to prove or dispel it. We know one thing, though—just because you don’t need car insurance doesn’t mean you should forgo it altogether.
