Does car insurance cover tree damage?

A tree hit my car. Would my car insurance cover it? I have liability coverage.

“Sorry to hear about a tree falling on your car! Unfortunately, if you have
liability car insurance
, your policy will not cover tree damage. Liability car insurance only covers damage and injuries that you cause to other people and their vehicles. It does not provide you or your vehicle any coverage.
If you wanted to submit a claim for damage from a tree, you would need to have
comprehensive insurance
on your policy. Comprehensive insurance is often called other-than-collision coverage as it covers things unrelated to collisions with objects or vehicles.
Though you can’t submit a claim now, adding comprehensive coverage may be something to consider in the future. You can do so with the
Jerry
app. By signing up, you can compare quotes from dozens of reputable insurers and get the best rate for comprehensive coverage, which should protect you from natural disasters and acts of God.”
