What other factors affect 2015 Nissan Altima insurance rates?

Your car isn’t the only thing that can influence your auto insurance rates. When calculating your premiums, car insurance companies also take these factors into consideration:
  • Driver age: Teen drivers experience some of the highest rates, whereas drivers 55 to 64 experience some of the lowest. Costs tend to increase again once drivers turn 65 as age-related factors, such as vision and hearing impairment, are more prevalent.
  • Your driving record and claims history: If you have several claims on your insurance history, or many violations on your driving record, you’ll notice higher than average premium costs.
  • Where you keep your car: Location matters—drivers in highly populated ZIP codes or states may see higher premiums as a result of accident and theft risks.

2015 Nissan Altima insurance costs for young drivers

Teen drivers
generally pay the most out of any age demographic for car insurance due to a combination of less driving experience and higher violation risks. Although the cost of a 2015 Nissan Altima is typically cheaper, it may be more costly than the average costs for young motorists.

2015 Nissan Altima insurance costs for senior drivers

On a similar note, older drivers between the ages of 55 and 64 often see lower than average rates as a result of accumulated experience and built safe driving habits.
However, once drivers turn 65, their premiums often rise again as vision loss and hearing impairment can increase their risk and lower their safety on the road.

How can I lower the cost of insurance for my 2015 Nissan Altima?

Drivers can continue to lower their car insurance costs by practicing these
smart shopping strategies
  • Compare at least three quotes: Comparison shopping is the best way to lower your costs. With Jerry, drivers can find and bind a policy in usually under two hours.
  • Use a broker: Unlike car insurance agents,
    insurance brokers
work with dozens of providers at one time to help you find your best rate. When shopping for car insurance, consider partnering with a broker.
  • Bundle multiple policies: Drivers who
bundle their car insurance with their homeowners or renters insurance
can save up to 15% on their premiums with select providers.
  • Check for discounts: Several providers offer car insurance discounts for good drivers, good students, distant students, loyal customers, and more.
  • Enroll in a usage-based insurance program: Telematics programs can help you build safe driving habits, while saving on your car insurance through rewards and discount offers.

Methodology

The Insurance Research Team analyzes insurance products and services to drive insights and help consumers make informed purchase decisions.
Insurance research: We analyzed over 25 million car insurance quotes; conducted the largest insurance shopping survey (over 15,000 customers surveyed and 85 carriers reviewed in the past 18 months).
We surveyed insurance policyholders for their experience with their insurers in the following areas: (1) insurance cost (2) customer service (3) insurance buying experience (4) insurance renewal experience (5) claim experience. In addition, we asked people what they like about their insurers and what areas in which their insurers could improve. The driver characteristics used in calculating average rates for auto insurance include: single driver, single car, currently insured, clean driving record.
