If you drive a 2015

with the 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, you’ll want to pick up five quarts of SAE 0W-20 motor oil. You have the option of using either conventional or synthetic oil, but we recommend synthetic oil since it’s cleaner and allows you to go longer between oil changes. Both types of motor oil can be found at any auto parts shop or big box store.Here are a few things you can do to prepare for your first oil change:
- Remove any debris or clutter from the area where you’ll be working, set your floor jack and stands on a level surface, and make sure you have enough space to easily move in and out from under the car.
- Gather your supplies and move them to an easy-to-reach area. You should have new motor oil, a new filter, a wrench that fits your drain plug, a drip pan—and it’s also a good idea to keep some paper towels or rags nearby to clean up any spills.
- If you have a friend or family member who has experience with basic car maintenance, ask them to guide you through the process. If not, you can keep your phone or tablet with you while you work so you can reference online tutorials as needed.
