The 2022 Toyota Mirai is Getting a Unique Update

Car technology
continues to evolve, and automakers keep rolling out vehicles with advanced tech features to improve safety and performance. Toyota is now introducing its most advanced driver assistance system (ADAS)—the Toyota Teammate—with the 2022 Toyota Mirai. The upgrade comes a year after Lexus debuted the system in its 2021 lineup.
The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) defines the upgrade as a Level 2 ADAS, which allows the car to perform dynamic driving, as well as allowing steering-control and parking assistance. With this optional upgrade, Toyota is expected to raise the Mirai's price, but that doesn’t mean you have to deal with rising

Understanding the 2022 Toyota Mirai's Teammate ADAS

The 2022 Mirai will now feature Toyota's Teammate advanced driver assistance system. However, it will be available as an option in the highest-ranking Limited trim. The addition costs $5,170 to add it to the Limited. According to Toyota, the 2022 Mirai has been on the market for months now, but the Teammate ADAS will be available starting March 2022, as noted on

Considered a "partial hands-free system”, the feature reduces driver fatigue. It is designed to perform two primary functions: Advanced Drive and Advanced Park.
When the Driver assist is activated, it automatically performs limited highway driving, including steering, acceleration, braking, and lane centering. Still, drivers must be on high alert with eyes on the road.
When you engage the Advanced Park feature, the system takes over the steering, acceleration, braking, and switching gears. As its name suggests, it also performs parallel parking assistance and can reverse into parking spots. It comes with a 360-degree camera and sensors that enable drivers to monitor the vehicle's position and blind spots when parking.

How does the Teammate increase the 2022 Toyota Mirai's price?

The Toyota Teammate driver assistance system is a 10-year subscription feature, complete with the automaker's Safety Connect, Destination Assist data services, and Dynamic navigation. By purchasing the package, 2022 Toyota Mirai Limited buyers will have to dig deeper into their pockets to meet the model's price tag of $72,195, up from the standard MSRP of $67,025.
The Limited version is one of only two trims available. Although the Toyota Teammate isn't available in the XLE trim, Toyota engineered a $1,410 Advanced Technology Package that features a Bird's Eye View camera, front-seat foot lighting, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking system. If you choose the Limited trim, you'll get the package as a standard feature.

Designs, specs, and features of the 2022 Toyota Mirai

The Mirai is a hydrogen fuel-cell-powered EV that delivers 182 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. When running exclusively on the hydrogen tank, the car has a driving range of 402 miles. The Japanese carmaker claims that the vehicle can dash from 0-60 mph in 9.1 seconds, but the electric motor feels like it delivers more grunt when driving on city streets.
The 2022 Mirai has an impressive coupe design with a sleek front end that combines a large black grille with a chrome base and blade design headlights. Its scrupulously sculptured body and black, 19-inch, 5-spoke wheels add to its aesthetics. The interior is available in satin-silver and copper-colored interior linings and textured SofTex-trimmed seats.
