What do I say in court for reckless driving charges?
I was charged with reckless driving for going 35 miles per hour over the speed limit. Now I have to appear in court. I’ve never really been in trouble before and I’m not sure what to do. How can I get reckless driving dismissed in court?

Sorry to hear about your legal troubles! If you’re in court for reckless driving charges, don’t say anything that would incriminate you further or lead to a conviction unless otherwise advised by your attorney.
Keep in mind that appearing in court for reckless driving charges is rare, let alone being required to speak. In most cases, you should hire an attorney to handle the case for you. Lawyers can typically plead the case down to a lesser charge.
Very few reckless driving charges actually go to court, so if you’re given the option to plead to a lesser charge, do it unless you feel as though your charges were incorrect and you’re innocent.
If you have to appear in court during your arraignment, pre-trial hearing, or actual trial, your attorney usually won’t put you on the stand. But if you have to defend yourself or testify, simply tell the truth. You’ll also have time to plead your case when you arrive in court for your sentencing.
