What are the different types of flood insurance?

Are there different types of flood insurance? My provider in Texas doesn't offer flood insurance, and I don't know where to look for other options.

“Unfortunately, private flood insurance is relatively new and there aren’t many different types to choose from.
As it stands, the following are your best options:
  • FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)
  • Private flood insurance policy
While the NFIP is cheap and will cover most damages, it may have a lower coverage limit (how much they’re willing to pay out) than private insurers. Alternatively, flood insurance is somewhat new for private insurance companies, so the
flood insurance policies
you find may not be as reliable as they seem.
No matter which plan you choose, both will incorporate options for dwelling coverage and contents coverage. Dwelling coverage is required and insures your property, along with any attached structures/appliances. Contents coverage, on the other hand, is optional and protects your personal belongings. Note that the amount of coverage offered by private insurers may vary.
To make sure you’re getting the best deals possible, try using the
Jerry app
to find and compare policies. A licensed broker that offers end-to-end support, the Jerry app gathers affordable quotes, helps you switch plans, and will even help you cancel your old policy.”
