Georgia’s decline in electric car sales may be due to the special fee for electric cars that the state has imposed. This fee ranges from $50 to $225 and might deter motorists ready to trade in their fossil fuel-powered vehicles. Many Georgians argue that these fees do not equate to what they would pay in fuel taxes and seem unfair.
That said, Georgia does offer electric vehicle incentives in the form of a $250 rebate when you purchase a hybrid or EV. While this might seem insignificant compared to the total cost, it is one step in the right direction and may pave the way for further EV innovation in the Peach State.
