How do you open the gas tank on a Mazda CX-7?

I don’t know how to fill up my mom’s car with gas but I want to surprise her with a full tank. Does the Mazda CX-7 have a gas tank lever hidden somewhere in the car?

What a nice gesture! To open the gas tank on a
Mazda CX-7
, you’ll need to pull up on the fuel door release lever. The lever is located on the left-hand side of the driver’s seat next to the rear hatch release lever—pull upward on this lever to trigger the spring release and pop open your vehicle’s fuel door.
Once your fuel door is open, you’ll need to exit your Mazda and walk around to the fuel door. Pull the door open the rest of the way to reveal your vehicle’s gas cap underneath. Then, unscrew the gas cap by turning it counterclockwise until it comes free from your vehicle—this will give you access to the gas tank, at which point you can refuel your vehicle.
If pulling the fuel door release lever doesn’t cause your Mazda’s fuel door to pop open, it could be that the spring mechanism is broken. In this case, you’ll need to contact your local mechanic to get the fuel tank door examined. It’s best to do this before you
run out of gas
since you might have to pay for a tow truck otherwise!
