How many Audi Sport Quattros were made?

I’m a huge rally car fan, and I also love Audis. That means, of course, I’m a fan of the Audi Sport Quattro, and I’ve always wanted to try to get my hands on one. How many were made?

When you’re talking about the Audi Sport Quattro, you mean the 1984 Audi Sport Quattro S1 Group B rallying car. This gem is beloved by both
Audi
and rally enthusiasts alike, and since only 214 Audi Sport Quattros were ever manufactured, with only 160 being sold as road cars, you’ll be lucky to find one for less than half a million dollars!
You probably already know this, but keep in mind, too, that there are two models of the Sport Quattro—the E1 and E2. Overall, they’re pretty similar, even down to the engine. Both sport a 2.1-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder with dual overhead cams.
The main difference? Output.
  • The E1 Sport Quattro produces 444 horses and 258 lb-ft of torque
  • The E2 offers max power of up to 600 horsepower and over 400 lb-ft of torque
Both vehicles featured a standard manual transmission, though the E2 also featured a six-speed power-shifted gearbox, and both were equipped with standard all-wheel drive.
