How long after replacing my windshield should I get a car wash?

I’m getting my windshield replaced this afternoon and was planning on going through the car wash afterwards, but I don’t know if that’s actually a good idea. How long after replacing my windshield should I get a car wash?

It is recommended you wait at least 24 hours after replacing your windshield before getting a car wash, though it may be better to wait 2-3 days to stay on the safe side.
Waiting at least 24 hours helps ensure that the adhesive and sealant keeping your new windshield in place has enough time to properly secure itself to both the frame and the glass. In large part, this means keeping pressure off of your windshield.
Going through a car wash subjects your windshield to pressure from the water and the large cleaning implements. These can disrupt the sealing process—waiting a day or so removes that risk.
If you absolutely need to wash your car within 24 hours, you can do so by hand—this will not put enough pressure on the windshield to interfere with the sealant.
If you get into an accident or your vehicle is damaged by some outside force, you’ll want to make sure you’re protected with the best insurance policy money can buy. Licensed
