How much does Nissan 240SX car insurance cost?

The average Nissan 240SX driver spends $150 per month on full coverage insurance and $150 per month on full coverage. This makes the Nissan 240SX 6% more less expensive to insure than other popular cars, like the
Tesla
Model 3
,
Hummer
H2
, and
Ford
Focus
.
These numbers could be very different from your personal insurance premiums, however, since the cost of car insurance depends on your driver profile. Things like your car’s age and trim level play a role in your insurance prices, meaning premiums can vary a lot from Nissan to Nissan. To get a more accurate understanding of your projected insurance rates, you’ll need to
compare car insurance quotes
.

Even with the same model, however, insurance costs can be very different from driver to driver. Things like your driving history, your insurance history, and your zip code can have a big impact on your auto insurance rates, as can your vehicle’s model year and trim level.
To determine what you’ll pay for car insurance, you’ll need to
get free quotes
from at least three companies.

The best car insurance companies for Nissan 240SX owners

Every insurance company uses a slightly different algorithm to
calculate your premiums
, which means that there is no single best insurance company for every Nissan 240SX driver.
But all hope isn’t lost. Jerry conducted the largest survey in the nation, asking over 15,000 real policyholders about their experience with their current provider. While providers including
Allstate
,
State Farm
, and
GEICO
received high customer service scores, other insurers, such as
Progressive
and
Travelers
achieved high overall ratings, making them a top choice for most Nissan 240SX owners.

How'd we get these scores?

Jerry's experts conducted one of the largest car insurance surveys in the United States. We surveyed 15,000 policyholders, in all 50 states, over the span of 18 months. These policyholders hold insurance policies with 87 different insurance companies. We surveyed policyholders to gauge their satisfaction with their insurance carriers in: policy cost, customer service, buying and renewal experience, as well as claim experience. These scores were all reported by real customers of the insurance companies.

How much car insurance do you need for a Nissan 240SX?

When shopping for car insurance, there are two main policies that you can get for your Nissan 240SX: minimum coverage or full coverage.
  • Full coverage insurance
includes liability insurance, as well as
    comprehensive
    and
    collision coverage
. These types of insurance coverages provide additional financial protection for your vehicle in collision and non-collision related events, such as theft or severe weather. It’s often required by lenders when leasing or financing a vehicle.
Although liability coverage is cheaper on a monthly basis, it will only cover medical expenses and vehicle damage for third parties—and if your limits max out, you could be left financially vulnerable. As such, most drivers will benefit from a full coverage insurance policy with higher liability limits of 50/100/50 or 100/300/100.
For more protection, motorists should also consider add-on coverage options, such as
roadside assistance
or
rental reimbursement
.

Why are some trims more expensive to insure than others?

Higher trim levels often have higher repair and replacement costs, making them a bigger risk for insurance companies. As a result, you’ll often see more expensive premiums for higher trim levels.

Nissan 240SX insurance cost by model year

The Nissan 240SX was only in commission from 1989 to 1995, meaning that most auto insurance rates for this vehicle are relatively cheap—but depending on the model year that you own, your rates could be cheaper or more expensive based on different technology and added safety features.

Are Nissan 240SXs expensive to insure?

On average, Nissan 240SX drivers can expect to pay $150 per month for minimum coverage, and $150 for full coverage. This makes the Nissan 240SX cheaper than other vehicles of a similar cost.

Mini Cooper
$90
$166
Jeep Liberty

Along with personal factors, providers will take things like your vehicle’s MSRP, trim level, model year, and cost of repairs into account when calculating the cost of your insurance. This can all have a big impact on the final cost of your policy.

What other factors affect Nissan 240SX insurance rates?

Your
car insurance rate
can vary a lot based on several factors. A few of the top ones include:
  • Your age: Drivers under the age of 25 see higher insurance rates. Insurance companies see younger drivers as a higher risk due to their limited driving experience.
  • The type of vehicle you drive: Luxury, high-performance, and sports cars are more expensive to insure due to less available parts and higher repair costs.
  • Your driving record and claims history: If you have accidents or tickets on your record, insurance companies will charge you a higher rate.

Drivers between the ages of 16 and 19 face the highest insurance costs of any age group due to a higher risk of accidents. As a result,
teen drivers
with a newer car will get more financial protection from full coverage insurance.

Nissan 240SX insurance cost for senior drivers

Older adults will face higher insurance costs as well. You might see higher
car insurance rates for seniors
because older adults are more likely to be involved in car accidents, and because seniors are more vulnerable to serious injuries in the event of a crash.
However, senior drivers can still continue to save on car insurance by shopping with Jerry.

How can I lower the cost of insurance for my car?

Savings comes in many forms. You can lower the cost of your insurance premiums in a number of ways:
  • Shop around: The top way to find a lower rate is by comparing quotes from several insurance providers, either with an insurance agent or broker, like Jerry. This allows you to find the best coverage at the best price—and with Jerry, you can find the insurance you need in under two minutes.
  • Raise your deductible: Your
    car insurance deductible
represents your out-of-pocket responsibilities before your collision or comprehensive coverage kicks in. When you increase your deductible, your monthly rate can decrease. Just be sure that you never raise your deductible to a higher price than you can afford.
  • Bundle your policies: Some insurers offer discounts to drivers who choose to
bundle their homeowners and auto insurance
  • Research available discounts: Most insurers offer discounts, and you could be missing out! Check with your provider to see if there are any money-saving opportunities available.
