My car insurance claim was recently denied and I disagree with my insurer's decision. How could I file an appeal for my car insurance claim?

Filing an auto insurance claim can be a strenuous process, especially after a rough accident. Unfortunately, insurers will occasionally deny
auto insurance
claims, but you can file an appeal.
Start by pursuing your insurer’s internal appeal process, which aims to resolve claims disputes in-house. Try calling your agent or visiting the provider’s website to learn more information.
In your appeal, you should cite personal evidence that contradicts the insurer’s final decision. You’ll want to include things like:
  • Photographs
  • Eyewitness reports
  • Medical records
  • The police report
If the insurance company upholds the denial, it’s possible to file a complaint through your state’s insurance department. Many states have a commissioner of insurance who handles complaints and can step in to demand the insurance company takes action.
