I am trading in my old car to purchase a new Volvo. I have insurance on my old car, but need insurance on my new car to drive off the lot. How do I change my car insurance to my new car?

To change your
car insurance
to a new car, you need to add the Volvo to your insurance policy.
While most car insurance companies offer grace periods for extending coverage when purchasing a new car, adding the car before driving off the lot is a more ideal situation.
Depending on your insurance provider, you should be able to call or add your new car online. Since you already have an existing policy, the only thing you’ll need is the VIN (vehicle identification number).
You also want to have an idea of the coverage you’d like on the car. If you’re financing your new car, your lender will require
