Jerry to learn more about VinFast, the brand’s plans for the future, and what this means for European markets.

What is VinFast?

While VinFast is an automotive manufacturing corporation, it is actually a subsidiary of a larger Vietnamese conglomerate, VinGroup.
VinGroup is the largest conglomerate in Vietnam and has subsidiary brands in technology, real estate development, retail, healthcare, hospitality, and more.
The company was first founded in Ukraine in 1998 as Technocom and produced dried foods such as instant noodles. In 2000, the company started operating in Vietnam.
VinGroup has come a long way since its instant noodle days, and the overseas expansion of VinFast to Europe is just the beginning.
VinFast also has plans to enter markets in North America and establish the U.S. headquarters in Los Angeles, California. The automaker also announced plans to eventually establish its own
plant in North Carolina

What VinFast is bringing to the U.S. and Europe

The two most notable creations from the Vietnamese automaker are its two EVs, the VF 8 and VF 9. European pricing for the VF 8 and VF 9 include a battery subscription plan, which will be catered towards the respective European market in which it will be sold.
EU customers who purchase either of the first two EVs for sale in 2022 and 2023 will also be able to take advantage of a lifetime reward subscription policy that will accompany the EV.
The perks don’t stop there—all EU customers who reserve a VF 8 or VF 9 from June 1 to September 30, 2022  will receive a complimentary year of VinFast Smart Driving with Level 2+ ADAS and Smart Services suite.
VinFast is also offering free home delivery. The success of VinFast’s expansion hinges on getting a foothold in European markets over the next several months, so naturally, the brand is putting a major focus on customer service to entice and reassure first-time buyers.
“We are here to support every customer on their journey with VinFast, from reservation to their experiences throughout the vehicle life,” said VinFast Global CEO Madam Le Thi Thu Thuy as reported by Electrek.
“We are confident that beside our reasonable pricing, product quality, innovative and flexible sales policies, our outstanding service will be the key factor to provide customers with excellent ownership experiences.”
Only time will tell how the VF 8 and VF 9 will perform in European markets, but the Vietnamese brand seemed highly committed to its ambitious expansion plans.
Other EV manufacturers like Tesla turned themselves from a niche brand to a household name in a matter of years, and with the right product and right timing, the same could be true for VinFast.
