Tesla also offers the Model S Plaid that revs to a crazy 1020 hp and rips from 0-60 in 2.1 seconds. Its top speed is measured at 162 mph.
The Tesla Model S also tops the range competition, an important feature in EVs. The Model S Long Range boasts a range of 412 miles on a full charge, which drops to 390 miles for the Plaid. Mercedes weighs in with a range of 350 miles on the EQS450+ and 340 miles on the EQS580.
Mercedes EQS vs. Tesla Model S: which offers more luxury?
When it comes to luxury, Mercedes knows what its clients love, and seems to offer more. The Mercedes EQS is filled with the highest quality materials and features for the comfort of the driver and passengers alike.
Mercedes featured extensive ambient interior lighting, headrest pillows for front and rear passengers, and an Executive Rear Seat package. The rear seats also are adjustable with massage and heating elements.
Mercedes also offers its Hyperscreen dash—a giant wall-to-wall glass dash that includes control panels and the infotainment system. The more traditional dash splits the instrument panels from the infotainment system controls. The rear seat also includes an individual tablet to control the infotainment system.
The Tesla Model S is more minimalist with its features, with quality materials but not quite the kind of luxury its competitors offer. The Model S offers a large touchscreen infotainment system, and the instrument panel is mounted on the dash, easily visible above the new yoke steering wheel. A small touchscreen allows rear seat passengers to control the infotainment system, as well.

Price increases over the past year have taken the Tesla Model S Long Range to a starting price of $101,440, while the Plaid begins at $137,940.
