Ford understands that long charging times are frustrating and will offer its customers a 150-kilowatt DC fast charging system that can take the Lightning’s extended-range battery from 15% to 80% in just 41 minutes.
Even more intriguing, Ford plans to market its own home charger, dubbed the Ford Charge Station Pro. The charger will essentially run two Level 2 chargers through one plug. Ford claims that the Charge Station Pro 80-amp charger will bring the Lightning from 15% to 100% in eight hours. The Ford Charge Station Pro will also allow the Lightning to function as a backup electrical generator for your house!
In addition to its many charging options, the Ford F-150 Lightning also boasts excellent fuel economy. The Lightning’s 4WD, 4WD Extended-Range, and Platinum 4WD options are rated to 68 MPGe, 70 MPGe, and 66 MPGe respectively.
