2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV range
The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV has a fully electric range of up to 259 miles on a single charge. Its lithium-ion 65 kWh battery pack and 200 hp electric drive motor make this range possible. The 1LT and 2LT trims have the same powertrain, so you can expect identical range and performance out of either model.
This is the same range as the 2021 model, but Chevy has lowered the starting price of the 2022 model by over $5,500 to $31,500.
2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV charging time and fuel economy
Chevrolet will cover the costs of installing a Level 2 charging outlet in the homes of eligible customers who purchase or lease a 2022 Bolt EV,
Let’s break down the three different charging levels for EVs:
- Level 1: This is your standard 120V outlet, which will charge your Bolt at a rate of about four miles per hour.
- Level 2: This is a 240V outlet that can charge your Bolt at a much faster rate, achieving a full charge in about seven hours. You can get this installed in your garage for free when you purchase or lease a 2022 Chevy Bolt EV.
- Level 3: These are your public DC fast-charging stations. You can get up to 100 miles of power in 30 minutes at one of the 40,000 compatible charging stations.
Now, what does a sufficiently charged battery do for your fuel economy? Well, the Chevy Bolt EV is incredibly efficient, getting a combined 120MPGe—miles per gallon-equivalent. This is the number of miles you’re getting when power inputs are equal. So, in other words, $5 of electricity will get you about 4x more miles than $5 of gasoline.
