How to change your address on an Arizona driver’s license
Moving is exhausting. The last thing you should have to do is lift another box.
Are you simply moving from one city to another within Arizona? Luckily, you can quickly change your address online if you’re a current Arizona resident.
Otherwise, if you’re moving into Arizona from a different state, you will have to visit the MVD.
If you’re moving within Arizona
No matter which method you choose, have your driver’s license or identification card on hand before you pick up the phone or go online. You will be asked to provide and validate information found on these pieces of identification. The faster you make the process, the easier it will be for both you and the MVD employee!
If you’re moving to Arizona from another state
Unfortunately, if you’re not an Arizona local, changing your address can only be completed in person at the MVD. While paying the MVD a visit is less than convenient, getting it out of the way will allow you to explore your new surroundings sooner. Plus, you’ll avoid any issues that may arise when you travel outside the state.
Before you leave home, ensure you bring all of the following documents to prove your identity:
- Proof of identity (birth certificate, U.S. passport or passport card, military ID card, U.S. Certificate of Naturalization, or U.S. Certificate of Citizenship)
- Proof of Social Security number
- A completed Arizona Driver’s License Application, which you can choose to print out and complete before your appointment or on-site at the MVD
- Current driver’s license from your previous state
