What kind of oil does a 2010 Mazda 3 take?

Hi! My car is 10 years old now and has about 140,000 miles on it. I’m not sure what kind of oil to use now that it has so many miles. Can you tell me what kind of oil a 2010 Mazda 3 takes?

Kudos to you for checking on that! It’s awesome that you want to maintain your car correctly. I will gladly tell you what kind of oil a 2010
Mazda 3
takes.
Mazda recommends using SAE 5W-20 motor oil for both the 2.0L and 2.5L engines. They also recommend looking for brands that are “certified for gasoline engines.”
If 5W-20 isn’t available, you can use 5W-30, but make sure to replace it with the proper type at the following oil change. The Mazda 3 can take between 4.5 and 5.3 quarts of oil (if you have a turbocharged engine, it may need up to 6).
Now you know what kind of oil your car needs—but do you know if your Mazda 3 is protected with the right
car insurance
coverage?
