What is a Hyundai Sonata’s oil type?

I’m going to the store to buy some oil for my Hyundai, but I have no idea what kind to get! What type of oil does a Hyundai Sonata use?

Fear not—shopping for oil for any car is a simple process when you know what you’re looking for!
A Hyundai Sonata’s oil type is 5w-20 or 5w-30 oil. The type of oil you need for your car should be printed on the oil cap under your hood on the engine block. If it’s not there, you can find it in your owner’s manual.
Generally, any car parts store that sells oil will also be able to tell you what type of oil your engine needs.
It’s always a great idea to have some extra oil on hand in case your engine is running low—or you want to do an oil change yourself. Most cars need oil changes every 3,000–5,000 miles to perform their best!
