How do you open the gas tank on a Mazda Miata?
I want to get gas in my rental car, but I can’t find the lever for the gas tank anywhere. Does the Mazda Miata have a gas tank lever?

We got you! To open the gas tank on a Mazda Miata, you’ll need to press inward on the edge of the fuel door on the exterior of your vehicle. This will trigger a spring mechanism that will cause your fuel door to pop open.
In order for your fuel door to open, though, you’ll need to unlock all of your car doors. If any of your car doors are locked, your fuel door will lock, too. This is a safety mechanism intended to keep people from tampering with your gas tank while your vehicle is parked, but it can also prevent you from opening your own gas tank if you forget to unlock your doors!
Once you open the fuel door, you’ll need to unscrew the gas cap located underneath. When you do this, you’ll gain access to your vehicle’s fuel tank, at which point you’ll be able to fill up your car with gas. If you run into problems opening your fuel tank after following these steps, though, it’s a good idea to contact your rental company to report the problem.
