Where is the OBD port in a 2016 Honda CR-V?

My car’s been acting a little funky lately, and my neighbor loaned me their OBD reader. But here’s the thing—I don’t know where to plug this thing into. Where is the OBD port on a 2016 Honda CR-V?

No worries—we’ve got your back!
The OBD port on a 2016
Honda CR-V
is located under the steering wheel, on the right-hand side. Look above the gas pedal on the central console, and you should be able to see the 16-pin port that the OBD reader plugs into.
Once you’ve found the port and connected the reader, you’ll be able to see what (if any) error codes your CR-V is generating. But those codes won’t be in plain English—they’ll be a mash-up of nonsensical letters and numbers. From there, you’ll want to record the codes exactly as they’re written, and then you can begin the task of deciphering your
car OBD codes
!
In some cases, these error codes might be something you can take care of at home, or it might be a
car repair
that requires a trip to the mechanic. Good luck and happy code-breaking!
