Is I-95 a toll road in Massachusetts?

I’m going on a trip around Massachusetts with some friends and want to be prepared for toll roads if we have to drive on them. Is Interstate 95 a toll road?

is not a toll road, and there is no fee to drive on it. However, I-95 is a toll road in other states, so you’ll have to be prepared to pay for use if you’re crossing state borders.
In the following states, you’ll have to pay tolls on I-95:
  • Maine
  • New Hampshire
  • New York
  • New Jersey
  • Pennsylvania
  • Delaware
  • Maryland
There are no tolls on I-95 in the following states:
  • Massachusetts
  • Rhode Island
  • Connecticut
  • Virginia
  • North Carolina
  • South Carolina
  • Georgia
  • Florida
Drivers with a transponder will have their fees withdrawn automatically. However, other options of payment include check or money orders (if paying via mail) and credit or debit cards.
