Are the batteries in electric cars bad for your health?

There are so many things to consider before buying an electric car. I know that EV’s are praised for being great for the environment, but I’ve also heard that electric car batteries can be harmful to your health. Is this true?

You’re right. There is a lot to consider before buying a different car. While
electric vehicles
are known to reduce your environmental impact, it’s said that their batteries can be more harmful to your health than gasoline vehicles. The batteries in an electric vehicle emit a gasless pollutant called Electromagnetic Field Radiation (EMF). Modern science suggests that extended exposure to the energy released from the battery can cause adverse health effects. Wireless devices like your cell phone, Bluetooth, and wifi also release EMF radiation. Long-term exposure can lead to neurological effects, health disorders, and behavioral issues. The closer you are to EMF radiation, the more you’re exposed. But you’re not entirely helpless in this situation. Here’s how you can reduce exposure to EMF radiation:* Create a phone-free zone in your car. Classic forms of entertainment like playing games or my favorite napping, is a great way to kill time during your trips and reduce radiation for you and your passengers.
  • When making or receiving calls, try to stop somewhere and take your call outside the vehicle. If that’s not realistic, try talking with the windows open to avoid enclosing the radiation inside of the car.
  • Turn off your electric car’s computer systems when you can as they also emit radiation.
  • You can also opt for protective clothing. EMF clothing uses layers of shielding technology to block up to 99% of EMF radiation. Being informed is the best way to approach a big decision like owning a car. Whatever you decide,
