How to renew a car insurance?

My car insurance is expiring next month, and I'd like to keep my insurance. This is my first-ever policy, though, and I'm not sure how to go about it. How do I renew my car insurance policy?

“Good for you for thinking ahead! I’m happy to say that in most cases, your
car insurance
policy will renew automatically: if you’ve paid your insurance on time and haven’t submitted an excessive amount of claims during your policy period, your car insurance company should offer a renewal of your policy!
A policy renewal notice is sent 30 to 60 days before your current insurance policy expires. It will detail:
  • The terms of renewal
  • Your new monthly payments and premium
  • The new policy term and effective date
  • Any discounts you’ve received
Your insurance company may also ask you to log into your online account to review any additional documents relating to your renewal. You should also take time to review the
coverage on your policy
and make any necessary adjustments.
If you’re offered a renewal and happy with your policy, you won’t need to do anything further. Your policy should renew on the new effective date with no lapse in coverage. If you’re on autopay, your payment will come out as usual.
However, insurance companies aren’t required to renew insurance policies. If you haven’t paid your insurance on time, have gotten tickets, or been in accidents during your current policy term, your insurance company could decide to cancel your policy after your current term. Just as you’re able to make changes to your policy during the renewal period, your insurance company can as well.
