I need to get a copy of my driving record, but I'm getting different answers regarding the price. How much do I need to pay to get my Texas driving record?
Here are the six types of Texas driving records, their costs, and their uses;
Type 1, Status Record ($4): Lists date of birth, home address, license status, and Texas driver's license application date.
Type 2, 3-Year History ($6): Lists Type 1 information plus all moving violations and car crashes (when a ticket was received) within the last three years.
Type 2A, Certified 3-Year History ($10): A certified version of Type 2. Cannot be used for a defensive driving course (DDC).
Type 3, List of all crashes and violations ($7): Lists Type 1 information, plus all moving violations, non-moving violations, and all crashes (even ones where no ticket was received) in history. Cannot be used for a DDC.
Type 3A, Certified list of all crashes and violations ($10): A certified version of Type 3, this is the only Texas Driver Record that can be used for a DDC.
Type AR, Certified abstract of complete driver record ($20): Lists Type 3 information, plus all information in a driver record.
Regardless of which type of Texas Driver Record you need, you can easily request a copy on the Texas Department of Public Safety’s website.
