How do you open the hood on a Jeep Cherokee?
I need to do some work on my Jeep, but I can’t figure out how to pop the hood. I think I might be missing a latch or lever somewhere. How do you open the hood on a Jeep Cherokee?

You’re on the right track—most vehicles have more than one latch locking the hood in place. You’ll need to release both of them to open the hood on your Jeep Cherokee. Here’s how:
- Find the hood release lever, which is usually on the driver’s side dashboard and to the left of the steering wheel
- Pull the lever towards you to release the hood
- Get out and go towards the hood
- Reach under the middle of the hood and release the second latch
- Open the hood and prop it up with the support rod
