How do I reset the oil life on a Toyota RAV4?
I just got an oil change on my Toyota RAV4. However, when I was driving home, I noticed that the maintenance light was still on. I’ve read that I can get rid of this by resetting the oil life. How do I fix the oil life on my Toyota RAV4?

In reality, your
Toyota RAV4
has no oil life light. That’s a Honda feature. However, you can still reset the maintenance light, which is similar in that it is meant to let you know when you need another oil change.To reset the oil life on a Toyota RAV4 (aka the maintenance required light), follow these simple instructions:
- Turn the key to the on position, but don’t start the engine.
- Hit the back arrow button on the left-hand side of the steering wheel to get rid of any notifications on your instrument panel.
- Use the left or right arrow to select the settings, denoted by a gear.
- Press the down arrow until you reach vehicle settings.
- Press the center button to select.
- Select the scheduled maintenance button.
- When the display asks you to reset, select yes.
- The maintenance required light should disappear.
