How can I find out who my insurance company is?
Is there a way to find out who my current insurance company is? I was in a bit of a fender-bender last week, unfortunately, and I couldn't find any of my policy information. I thought I was with GEICO, but they said I hadn't had a policy with them in over a year. How could this happen? And how can I find out who my actual company is?

I’m so sorry about your fender-bender; I hope you’re all right! It could be that you are with a different insurance company, or that your policy with
GEICO
didn’t renew and that you need to start a new policy ASAP!Before you do that, though, make sure you’ve looked in all of the usual places for your
ID card
. These include:- Glovebox
- Center console
- Driver side mirror
- Wallet or purse
- Pile of unopened mail by the front door
If you haven’t located it there, check your email and go through online bank statements to see when was the last time you made an insurance payment. Then, call the last company you see listed. If they state you don’t have a policy, get
