Do you need an international driving license for Florida?

I live in the U.K., and I have a full license without restrictions. My friend wants to visit Florida for a few weeks, but we want to make sure we can drive around to see our bucket-list destinations. Do I need an international driver’s permit (IDP) for Florida?

No, you don’t need an
international driving license
to drive in
Florida
.
Florida is one of 38 U.S. states that don’t require an IDP to rent a vehicle if you’re a foreigner. However, if you’re traveling to the neighboring states of Georgia, Alabama, or Mississippi, make sure you get your IDP in order before leaving the U.K. These are just a handful of
the states that require an IDP
, and they separate Florida from the rest of the mainland.
If you’re adventurous or you stray from your plans regularly, getting your IDP is a smart idea.
