How do you put a Chrysler Pacifica in Neutral?

My partner accidentally left the lights on in the minivan overnight and low and behold: the car won’t start today. The trouble is, it’s stuck in a tight garage and our jumpstart cables only go so far. How do you put a Chrysler Pacifica in Neutral if its battery is dead?

Waking up to a dead car in the morning is never a great start to the day. Fortunately, you can still put a Chrysler Pacifica in Neutral with a dead battery by using the emergency shift lock release. Here’s how:
  1. In the panel under your steering wheel, look for a rectangular outline
  2. Using a small flat tool, like a key or your fingernail, and pry it open from the notch in the bottom
  3. The rectangular piece will fall forward, attached to a cloth—pull the piece down until the cloth strap clicks
  4. Your gear shift is now free to be moved into Neutral
If you still end up having trouble getting your car jumped,
towing and labor coverage
is one of the easiest ways to get that minivan up and running again. Don’t have that sort of coverage in your plan? Don’t worry—
