Do men or women pay more for car insurance?

My friend said men pay more for insurance. Is that true?

“After a certain age, both men and women pay a similar rate for insurance. However,
car insurance companies
charge young male drivers more than new female drivers. Young male drivers are riskier to insure as they likely get into more accidents and may have worse driving records compared to their female counterparts.
They may also submit more claims to their insurance companies. That said, after age 25, most men and women are paying a similar rate. As we age, we often begin to pay less for insurance. You have more driving experience and may be less likely to engage in risky behavior, which would increase your insurance rates.
But don’t let being a young male or any other age or gender prevent you from getting the best rates possible. With the
Jerry
app, you can compare quotes and find the best coverage for your needs.”
