My North Carolina license is set to expire this year, and I really don’t want to have to go to the DMV. Can I renew it online?

Good news! You can renew your driver’s license online in
North Carolina
if you meet the following criteria:
  • You have a Class C driver’s license
  • You don’t have any restrictions other than corrective lenses
  • Your vision hasn’t changed in the last six months
To complete the online process, you’ll need your driver’s license number, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. You won’t get a new photo, though—your new license will use the photo on your current license. You can renew your license up to six months before your license expires.
License renewal will cost $5, and you’ll get an email after your payment is successful. Then you should receive a second email with a temporary license that’s valid for 60 days—but you should receive your new license in the mail within 20 days.
Once you’ve got your license taken care of, it may be time to revisit your car insurance policy, too. When you use the
Jerry
app, you’ll get access to the lowest possible rates on whatever coverage you need—just ask Jerry customers! They save over $800 on average each year.
