Can I add my amphibious vehicle to my auto policy?

How can I get my WaterCar insured? I just bought a used one and wondered if it can be added to my auto policy since it is roadworthy, or if I need a boat policy since it is also a motor boat?

“Getting coverage for an amphibious vehicle can be a challenge, but there is coverage out there!
The first step is to check in with your local municipality and DMV. Some states and counties will allow you to register a WaterCar as a car, some as a boat, and some will require you to do both. However, in many states, they are not legal at all.
It is best to find a
local insurance broker
that can help you find some loopholes to get coverage in this situation. Some people have been able to insure them as kit cars. Kit cars are vehicle packages that are sold disassembled and the owner builds them into actual, street-worthy vehicles.
