Are warnings on your driving record?

I received a verbal warning from a police officer the other day for speeding. I was only going 6 mph over, so he just said to drive slower in that particular area. Even so, I’m worried about my car insurance going up. Do warnings go on your driving record?

You should be glad the officer only gave you a warning! Verbal warnings don’t go on your driving record, as no paper trail exists showing that the event ever happened. However, written warnings may go on your driving record, depending on the practices of your local police department.
Nevertheless, even written warnings aren’t likely to increase your
car insurance
costs because they aren’t actual tickets or infractions.
Think of this situation as a major bullet dodged, and try to go at or below the speed limit, especially in that particular area.
While a warning probably won’t increase your car insurance rates, sometimes your rates rise over time without any infractions. As a result, you should review your policy as often as possible and shop for the lowest rates on the
