They say car colors can reveal a lot about a person. It’s a way to express yourself and a way to have fun with your new ride. Yes, the paint color of your car could potentially affect the resale value, but not enough to worry about.

Car and Driver
, research by PPG indicates that grayscale shades from white to black made up 76% of paint colors on vehicles sold in the United States in 2020. Blue was the next most popular color. How exciting.Perhaps due to the pandemic, many consumers weren’t in the mood for loud, bright-colored shades. But in 2022, the auto industry started with a bang. Color options are bolder, more unique, and more vast than ever.
Wild and daring unique car colors that pop
The Audi Q8 is offered in a cool Dragon Orange Metallic. The burnt orange color reminds us of fall leaves and is as pleasant to look at as it gets for orange. Acura TLX Type S’s Tiger Eye Pearl is another coppery hue to note if a sports sedan is more your thing.
On the contrary, the Acura RDX introduced the NSX Thermal Orange Pearl. This dark orange is loud and stark. We’re interested to see what the sales will look like for this acquired taste.
If you’re feeling adventurous and ready to hit the open road, Ford Bronco’s Cyber Orange may be the right fit. It almost reminds us of the yellow-orange lifeguard trucks that patrol the beach in Santa Monica county. One thing for sure, your buddies will never lose sight of your off-road SUV on the trails.
Wow, that’s a lot of orange. Other Bronco owners are opting for a more subtle option like Eruption Green. The color has been compared to 2022 Kia Stinger’s Ascot Green, which is even more subdued.
Similar to Aston Martin’s bold Lime Essence, Sao Paulo Yellow is an option for both the BMW M3 and BMW M4. This yellow-green pastel tailors to adventurous sports car consumers and celebrates the vibrant colors of Brazil. This unique car color also gives us major tropical vacation vibes.
We love the new take on your typical blue car from Chevrolet and Cadillac. The Chevy Corvette comes in Rapid Blue, which is both eye-catching and magnificent. The Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwings can be wrapped in Electric Blue which appears to have a little bit of a lighter pigment than the Corvette.
Looking for more of a retro feel? Check out the Frozen Berry Metallic available on the Porsche Taycan. The light purple has a strong ‘80s flare and will fit right in parked outside of a classic arcade.
