Yes, you can rent two apartments at once—as long as you can afford to pay both of the rents. There aren’t any laws or rules that limit the number of active leases that you can have at any given time. The only limit is how many different rents you can afford to pay each month. That said, be sure to let the potential landlord know that your brother will be living in the apartment.
