Why does my Acura TLX show a brake system problem?

I noticed a brake system problem alert on my TLX’s dashboard while driving it today. I tested the brakes to make sure they still worked and thankfully, I made it home without issue. If the brakes feel fine, why would this alert show up?

An Acura TLX may show a brake system problem if the electronic emergency brake got stuck from underuse or simple age and wear. If this is the case, you’ll need to bring your vehicle to your nearest Acura dealership or a trusted local repair shop to have your brakes inspected.
However, the brake system problem alert may also show up if your TLX’s battery is low on power. Since the emergency brake operates on your car’s electric grid, a low-powered battery may be behind the issue and a jumpstart to charge the battery could fix the situation.
