Where is the OBD port in a 1993 Honda Accord?

I’m trying to help my uncle figure out what’s wrong with his old Accord, but we can’t find the OBD port to hook the scanner up to. Where is the OBD port in a 1993 Honda Accord?

That’s good of you to help your uncle out! The 1993
Honda Accord
doesn’t have an OBD port, as those didn’t appear in vehicles until 1996—instead, the ‘93 Accord has a two-prong connector pin located behind the passenger-side footwell panel.
Since you can’t use an OBD-II (on-board diagnostic) tool to hook into an OBD port in order to find the trouble codes for a ‘93 Accord, you’re going to have to decipher your uncle’s trouble codes the old-fashioned way. So grab a paper clip, a pen, and some paper, and let’s do this!
First, remove the front passenger footwell panel to reveal a blue or white connector. You’ll have to short it using the paper clip—untangle the clip and insert both ends into the connector’s two openings. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, note down the
Check Engine Light
flash pattern (eg: one, one-two-three), and use your owner’s manual to decipher the code in order to diagnose the problem.
If doing this is far too much of a headache for you and your uncle, take his Accord to a Honda dealership, where technicians will do the work of diagnosing and fixing any issues for you.
