What type of renters policy will work best for a travel nurse?

Will my renters policy cover me if I travel a lot? I currently live in Colorado, but two weeks a month I am sent to different parts of the country for work. I live out of a hotel for that time and bring only what fits in a suitcase. Do I need to change my policy every time I leave town?

“Renters policies cover you and your belongings anywhere in the world!
Because you maintain a permanent residence, you do not need to change your policy every time you travel.
Liability coverage applies to you, the insured, not necessarily the location where you reside. So whether you are at home or at a hotel, you are protected through your liability coverage.
Most home and renters policies have a vacancy clause that states if your home is vacant for more than 30 days, coverage will not apply. Since you work in two-week shifts, this isn’t something you would need to worry about.
One thing you will want to check on is your jewelry and electronics. If you have pricey items that you bring with you, check-in with your insurance company to see if there are any limitations or endorsements you should be adding.
If you are questioning the cost of your insurance policy, it is time to re-shop both your
home and auto insurance
policies. By bundling your auto and home insurance, you can save with a multi-line discount.
