What should I do if my car insurance company discontinued my insurance without informing me?

"After I got in a car accident, I found out that my insurance company had canceled my policy without telling me. What should I do?"

“Your policy could have been terminated for a number of reasons, such as not making your payments on time or reaching the end of your coverage period without renewing.
It’s unlikely that your car insurance company terminated your policy without informing you. They probably tried to get in contact with you to let you know your coverage was ending. In this case, the burden of proof falls on you.
If you can prove that you made your payments on time and met the eligibility requirements, you can file an appeal with the company. You’ll have to provide evidence that they didn’t reach out to you, so make sure you check your junk mail folder before appealing to them.”
