What is the Oklahoma speed limit?

I’m headed to Oklahoma for a wedding. Since I have a bit of a heavy foot when I’m driving, I just want to make sure I know how fast I can go ahead of time. What’s the speed limit in Oklahoma?

The
Oklahoma
speed limit is 80 mph, but this applies only to rural stretches of the interstate system. Keep in mind that this speed can go down to 55 mph in urban areas, especially the interstate around
Tulsa
,
Norman
, and
Oklahoma City
.
Other speed limits may change based on the population, traffic, and jurisdiction, but these are general guidelines for the speed limit in Oklahoma:
  • 65 mph to 70 mph on state highways and U.S. highways unless otherwise posted
  • 55 mph on two-lane highways with no divider
  • 35 mph in any state wildlife refuge
  • 25 mph in residential areas and business districts
