What is the New Mexico speed limit?

I was going to visit a friend in New Mexico, but I also want to visit some of the state and national parks while I’m there. I’ve had a bit of a problem with speeding in the past, so I want to acclimate myself to the speeds in the state. What’s the speed limit in New Mexico?

If you want to cruise through the Land of Enchantment at a breezy pace, the
New Mexico
speed limit is 75 mph. This only applies to rural stretches of the interstate system, so take care when approaching urban areas.
Some of the other speed limits throughout New Mexico include:
  • 65 mph on divided highways
  • 55 mph on two-lane highways and rural roads
  • 35 mph in business districts and residential areas unless otherwise posted
  • 15 mph in school zones
