What is the Arizona speed limit?

I’ve always wanted to take Route 66 from Chicago to LA. While I’ve been on many stretches of this highway, I've never driven it in Arizona and I want to make sure that I don’t get a speeding ticket. What is the speed limit in Arizona?

Route 66 is an awesome way to see the US! If you’re going through the Grand Canyon State, the
Arizona
speed limit is a maximum of 75 mph. Since you’re on Route 66, you’re more likely to see a maximum speed limit of 55 mph.
Take note of other speed limits throughout Arizona to avoid a
speeding ticket
on your
driving record
:
  • 55 mph to 65 mph on stretches of urban interstate that have a population of more than 50,000 people
  • 55 mph on Arizona State Highways or country roads unless otherwise posted
  • 25 mph in residential areas and business districts
  • 15 mph in school zones
Before you embark on your Route 66 journey, you may want to consider
towing and labor coverage
. This add-on coverage functions just like roadside assistance, providing you with support when you need it. Download the
